FAQs
Can You Just Email Me a Quote?
I could definitely just send you a quote, but I’d have to make so many assumptions on your behalf that it would have no chance of being exactly what you want! Our plans are not cookie-cutter; they’re entirely customizable and have hundreds of options for you to choose from. The nice part of working with a professional insurance agent is having someone walk you through all the details of a complex insurance policy. I explain everything you need to know, and answer any and all of your questions along the way. I explain the pros and cons of different financial aspects of your policy in a way that is easy for everyone to understand. In the end, I offer peace of mind that you understand your policy, that there are no surprises later on, and that you’ve balanced the best financial choices for you or you and your family.
What’s the Difference Between a PPO and an HMO?
A Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) is a network of doctors, hospitals, and other customers. A Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan also offers a network of costs, and out-of-network coverage. Compared to PPOs, HMOs cost less. However, PPOs generally offer greater flexibility in seeing specialists, have larger networks than HMOs, and offer some out-of-network coverage.
I’m Young and Healthy So Why Do I Need Health Insurance?
Yes! Stuff happens….and it can get expensive. Skipping out on health insurance might seem like you’re saving money in the short run, especially when you are young and healthy. Unfortunately, unexpected illnesses and accidents do happen, and they are much more expensive when you’re uninsured. Something like a broken leg from skiing, cycling, or playing sports could cost an average of $7,500 without insurance! A three- day hospital stay? We’re talking as much as $30,000, depending on where you live. 66.5% of all personal bankruptcies in the US are related to medical bills, many of which could have been avoided with health insurance.
Should I Just Go to the Emergency Room for Any Medical Services?
People tend to go to the ER for the wrong reasons. ERs are meant for, well, emergencies, and serious medical cases that require immediate (and expensive) care. If you have a minor illness, please use your Family Physician OR your Tele-Medicine App (ask me how you get one!) Using technology for minor medical services has become more popular (especially in the “Zoom” era) and you can get quality care, referrals and prescriptions all from the comfort of your own home. Plus, it helps reduce the cost of medical expenses drastically when ERs are left to treat the most serious cases.
